ANKA, which takes its name from Ankara, is one of Turkey’s oldest news agencies, having been established in 1950.
After experiencing some tough times, the agency was rescued by a group of seasoned journalists under the guidance of Ahmet Dirican in 2019. True to our motto of “Strength Through Independence,” our primary aim is to foster independent journalism and objective reporting while upholding ANKA’s long-time reputation as a school for young journalists.
